Colorado is an eclectic melting pot of talents, with members coming from all around the world to join forces on this musical voyage. Reverbs and distortions, stirred with bilingualism and zero gravity rhythms, produce this unique sonic palette. Melancholy and happiness have found a new sound that spreads in large waves throughout our bedrooms, allowing us to transport to places we think we know.
Mariano Godoy (Venezuela / Argentina - Guitar, Vocals, Composer and Producer) had recently released his debut album as solo artist (Demons – 2008) but wanted to go back to a band formation, as he felt more freedom writing in this way. He starts writing the tunes and shaping them in his personal studio. Once the songs had a defined shape, he brings musicians together for the final recording at Fortress Studios in London.
For the album recording, Mariano was fortunate enough to work with amazing friends and musicians, like Javier Weyler (Stereophonics) on drums, Pete Callard on guitars and DJ Garnica programing electronic drums. On his side, Mariano gets the main guitars, vocals and synths laid down on the record. Eidur Alfredsson (Iceland) gets to do all the bass tracks. For the live shows, Yerko Jeria (Chile) joins on Drums, and William Villalobos on Keyboards.
Shooting Stars – The Debut Album
Released in February 2012, Shooting Stars is a synth and guitar infused, cosmic musical journey through impossible situations. Dream beats, folk, electronica, spanish and english mix to produce this unique catalogue of sounds.
Opening with a big bang, Shooting Star takes us track by track from pure light to absolute darkness, with 'delicate lo-fi textures all throughout, and dangerously expansive sound waves to abduct our imagination. "Your future" is a 2012 take on 50's Americana, and ode to lost loves and life changing decisions under the dark countryside's star spangled sky. "Broadway" could be the defacto soundtrack of space travel, with 60's analogue synths in super stereo spatial settings and cold harmonies to tele-transport you to the furthest of destinations. "Runaway" is a deliciously mellow folk tune to reflect on life's up and downs, intensity and survival of rock stars close to Colorado. "In the air" provides dreamy cymbals, orchestral arrangements and futuristic synths to make us float and clap our hands in a zero gravity situation, whilst "Souvenir" shakes us with metronomic rhythms through stories of destiny and serendipity across different countries. This is only a preview of the full, 8 track experience of Shooting Stars When stars are shooting, poets awaken..
